Walking Beam Flocculators
The JMS Walking Beam Flocculator uses reciprocating motion to eliminate the mass rotation and bypass issues other impeller-style flocculators struggle with. This up-and-down motion produces the best floc particles possible and is widely recognized as the choice for premium performance. With all major components above water, longevity and ease-of-maintenance are excellent. JMS has provided more successful Walking Beam Flocculators than any other manufacturer and has the proven, proprietary design knowledge to design these systems.

Low-Profile Cascade Aerators
The JMS "LPCA" is a patented, free-flowing, open-channel aeration device used to raise the dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration level of the treated effluent to 6.0 mg/l at the outfall of wastewater treatment plants ... in only 2 feet of elevation fall. Used in other applications as well, this efficient, packaged system requires no power supply, requires essentially no maintenance, and, with its small footprint and low installation cost, is ideal for meeting new DO effluent discharge requirements at new and existing treatment facilities.

Belt Conveyors
JMS Belt Conveyors, in use in numerous wastewater treatment plants across the country and internationally, are typically designed to transport materials such as dewatered sludge and screenings. They can have either a troughing belt or flat belt with corrugated side-walls, allowing the conveyors to transition from horizontal to inclined. Standard belt widths are: 18”, 24”, 30”, and 36”. All JMS Belt Conveyors are built to strict CEMA standards.

Screw Conveyors
The JMS Shafted Conveyor and JMS Shaftless Screw Conveyor, in use in numerous wastewater treatment plants across the country and internationally, are typically designed to transport materials such as dewatered sludge and screenings. Screw conveyor diameters typically range from 9” to 24”. All JMS Screw Conveyors are built to strict CEMA standards.

Storage Hoppers, Bins, and Silos
The JMS in-house engineering and fabrication teams have designed and built numerous Storage Hoppers, Bins, and Silos for sludge applications. These vessels can be manufactured from stainless steel or painted carbon steel and are typically used in conjunction with JMS Live Bottom Feeders to provide a metered discharge.

|

 |
 |

Live Bottom Feeders
JMS Live Bottom Feeders are typically offered as single, dual, or quad screw designs. The number and size of the screws is customized for each application based on the amount and rate of material required, with consideration for redundancy when required. Screws can be directly driven by a single drive or one drive can operate multiple screws through a chain & sprocket drive system.

 |
 |

Slide Gates and Diverter Valves
JMS Slide Gates are typically used with screw conveyors that have multiple discharges or on the bottom of hoppers and bins. The Slide Gates are usually manufactured from stainless steel and can be operated either with a manual handwheel or an electric actuator.
JMS offers Diverter Valves with 2-way and 3-way diverter gates for solid materials and the JMS Centrifuge Diverter Valve, which handles liquid concentrate from the centrifuge during startup and solid sludge from the centrifuge once the sludge is consolidated.

Grit Classifiers
JMS Grit Classifiers, also known as Grit Separators, are designed to separate and convey dewater grit, sand, and other heavy materials from wastewater (a mixture of water, light organics, grit, and other solids). These systems convey the heavy material up an inclined screw conveyor for discharge or further conveyance. With installations since 1989, JMS is highly-respected for its packaged systems which include the classifier chamber and system complete. For concrete basin applications, JMS offers troughed conveyors, weirs, and baffles customized by our in-house professional engineers to meet the specific application.

Screening Compactors
A rather recent addition (1997) to the JMS Material Handling Equipment line is our Heavy Duty Screenings Washer Compactor. Designed for efficiency and to eliminate clogging issues, the simple, proven design primarily consists of an inlet hopper, drainage section, compaction section, spray wash header, discharge piping, drives, and motors. With features designed to minimize screw flight wear and to provide longer gear reducer life, the compaction zone can achieve in excess of 60% solids content of screenings.

Scum Pipes
We have been designing and manufacturing rotating scum pipes since 1981. JMS Scum Pipes are typically stainless steel, but are available in a variety of construction materials and in diameters from 6” to 24”. These systems are designed for extended service life and include UHMW non-metallic end bearing assemblies and more. JMS has the capabilities to furnish the complete package specified (lever, linkage, hand-wheel, or electrically-actuated operation).

Level Control and Decanters
The JMS line of level-contol products includes the Floating Decanter, Swivel-Joint Floating Decanter, and the Telescoping Valve. Within a range of fluctuating water elevations, these devices may also be utilized to draw from the water surface or from below the water surface. Constructed of high-quality, corrosion-resistant materials, these systems are essentially maintenance-free.

Airlift Pumps
JMS Airlift Pumps are available with capacities up to 6000 gpm. Because airlift pumps have the advantage of not having liquid come in contact with any mechanical elements, these pumps are especially useful in grit applications. Our airlift pumps can be manufactured from stainless steel, painted carbon steel, or aluminum, and come complete with a blower and acoustical enclosure.
